ATI > NVidia
And there's only one reason it needs to be: ATI VPU Recover
I have a total of 3 "gaming" capable PCs around me, 2 desktops and a laptop.
My main rig ATI x1550 512mb Laptop ATI Radeon Xpress 128mb My Girlfriend's rig - NVidia 6100 256mb
I'm not even going to include my main rig's in this comparison, it's obviously going to be better than the other 2.
But, I've noticed with many games that my Laptop will play and display any/all graphics MUCH better (and with less hassle of settings) than my girlfriend's. WoW for example: Laptop - 50-60 FPS medium settings - 30-40 FPS max settings Girlfriend's desktop - 30-40 FPS medium settings - 10-20 FPS max settings (Using WoW for an example is perfect in my opinion, it doesn't take much to run so getting more FPS on an older system with an older gfx card isn't right)
We've tried MANY games together just to find when i multibox using my laptop, my laptop's performance is much greater than my girlfriend's. Tabula Rasa WarCraft III Arx Fatalis (not multiplayer) 2Moons Magic World Online Halo Black and White 1 and 2 Freelancer etc, etc, etc...
Another thing i noticed (which i LOVE about ATI) is that when the graphics begin to fuck up (due to heat, glitches, etc) ATI will reset itself, monitor goes out for a couple seconds and you're back to normal. With NVidia, it likes to try and "play through" any problems like that and requires an entire system restart to get rid of it.
