I don't think it's really a "hack" though, just another way of optimizing windows since microsoft really sucks in that area of programming.

Actually; it does seem to work for me. I was getting pings (on WoWlegion) of around 300+ and now i get it as low as 200. I only did added the "TcpAckFrequency" registry and added 1 and it was already in effect. I think the other steps also will decrease your latency.
